Big Sky – Day 1

When I learned no sun was forecast the rest of the week in Utah, I drove up to Big Sky and skied and it was a nice and sunny day! I’m going back to Big Sky tomorrow where it’s supposed to be sunny, and then back down to Snowbasin, Alta and Snowbird as sun is forecast for next week – Yeehaw!

Beautiful morning!

It got overcast for a bit…

Then the sun came out!

I chased the sun to Montana and Big Sky and I’m glad I did! I had the best time so far at Big Sky! Yeehaw!!

  1. Heard that snow is pretty scarce at Big Sky. How was it?
Also, when you get to Alta lmk how you handled the parking. The website says a reservation is necessary for parking in Friday to Sunday and it’s $25 per day. Snowbird is first come first served.

    1. There are some exposed rocks on a few of the steeper runs but I’m getting older (plus had a torn ACL in March 22) and now prefer green & blue groomers like “Mr. K” where there is plenty of snow at Big Sky! It’s true a lot of the mountain that experts prefer is not open due to more snow needed, but for me, it’s all great!
